Northern Seven Years' War
The Northern Seven Years' War was fought from 1563 to 1570 between Sweden under Eric XIV and John III and an alliance of Denmark–Norway, Lübeck and Poland-Lithuania. Fought on land in Scandinavia and at sea in the Baltic, it ended in exhaustion with the Treaty of Stettin in 1570. No territory changed hands, but Sweden had to pay a large ransom to recover the fortress of Älvsborg.
