Nymphaeum (Crimea)
Nymphaeum was an ancient Greek city on the Crimean shore of the Kerch Strait, south of Panticapaeum, founded in the sixth century BCE. It paid tribute as a member of the Athenian-led Delian League in the fifth century BCE before passing under the control of the Bosporan kings. Excavations have revealed sanctuaries, houses and a well-known wall drawing of a ship named Isis.
