1664 · 17th century

Nymphenburg Palace is a Baroque palace in western Munich, begun in 1664 as a summer residence for Elector Ferdinand Maria and his wife Henriette Adelaide of Savoy after the birth of their heir, Max Emanuel. Enlarged by later electors, it has a large landscaped park with pavilions such as the Amalienburg. It was the birthplace of King Ludwig II of Bavaria.
