O'Connor Kerry
The O'Connor Kerry, in Irish Ó Conchobhair Chiarraí, were the ruling family of the Ciarraige Luachra in north Kerry, Ireland, from the 11th century. Pushed northwards by the Anglo-Norman FitzGeralds in the 13th century, they held the territory of Iraghticonnor between Tralee and the Shannon, ruling from Carrigafoyle Castle. Their lands were largely lost after the Desmond Rebellions and the wars of the 17th century.
