Carrigafoyle Castle
Carrigafoyle Castle is a tower house on the Shannon estuary near Ballylongford in north County Kerry, Ireland, built in the late 15th century by the O'Connor Kerry. It guarded the approaches to the Shannon, and during the Second Desmond Rebellion in 1580 it was besieged and breached by English forces under Sir William Pelham, who killed its garrison. It is now a ruin.
