Old Saybrook
Old Saybrook is a town in Connecticut, United States, at the mouth of the Connecticut River on Long Island Sound. It grew from Saybrook Fort, built in 1635–1636 under John Winthrop the Younger for the Puritan holders of the Warwick Patent and named after Lord Saye and Sele and Lord Brooke. The settlement joined the Connecticut Colony in 1644, and Yale College was based there before moving to New Haven in 1716.
