Pequot War
The Pequot War was fought from 1636 to 1638 in southern New England between the Pequot people and the colonies of Massachusetts Bay, Plymouth and Connecticut, with their Narragansett and Mohegan allies. Its central event was the Mystic massacre of May 1637, in which colonists burned a fortified Pequot village; the Treaty of Hartford (1638) dissolved the Pequot as a nation.
