Ordeelbook
The Ordeelbook of 1270 is Hamburg's first written code of city law, compiled in Low German. It covers private, criminal and procedural law as practised in the city's courts. One of the earliest German city law codes, it was revised in later centuries and shaped legal practice in Hamburg and other towns of northern Germany.
