Ordu-Baliq
Ordu-Baliq was the capital of the Uyghur Khaganate on the Orkhon River in central Mongolia, built in the mid-8th century under Bayanchur Khan. Its ruins, known as Karabalgasun, include massive walls, a citadel and a palace, and travellers described a walled city surrounded by farmland and markets. The Yenisei Kyrgyz sacked it in 840, ending the khaganate.
