Ordubad
Ordubad is a town in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan, on the Aras River near the borders with Iran and Armenia. An old centre of silk production and trade, it keeps a well-preserved historic quarter. It belonged to the Persian khanate of Nakhchivan before passing to Russia in 1828, and in 1918–1919 it was part of the short-lived Republic of Aras.
