Östringen
Östringen was one of the medieval Frisian lands of north-western Germany, lying around the town of Jever west of the Jade bay. Like its neighbours it was a self-governing peasant community within the Frisian freedom until local chieftains rose to power in the 14th century. With Wangerland and part of Rüstringen it formed the core of the later Lordship of Jever.
