Pact of San José de Flores
The Pact of San José de Flores, signed on 11 November 1859 after Urquiza's victory at the Battle of Cepeda, ended the separation of the State of Buenos Aires from the Argentine Confederation. Buenos Aires agreed to rejoin the nation and accept the Constitution of 1853, subject to amendments proposed by a provincial convention, which were adopted in 1860. Conflict resumed soon after and was settled only by the Battle of Pavón in 1861.
