Pampa Grande
Pampa Grande is an archaeological site in the Lambayeque valley on the north coast of Peru, the largest centre of the late Moche period around 600 to 700 CE. Built after the older Moche centres to the south declined amid climatic crises, it covered several square kilometres and was dominated by the Huaca Fortaleza, one of the tallest adobe platforms in the Andes. It was burned and abandoned in the 8th century CE.
