Parliament of Ireland

c. 1297–1800 · 13th century · Also known as Irish Parliament

The Parliament of Ireland was the legislature of the Lordship and then the Kingdom of Ireland, meeting from the late 13th century. It passed the Crown of Ireland Act of 1542, which made Ireland a kingdom, and was long subordinate to the English crown and council. It was abolished by the Acts of Union of 1800, which merged Ireland into the United Kingdom.
