Paropamisadae
Paropamisadae was an ancient province in the Hindu Kush region of present-day Afghanistan, around the area of modern Kabul. It was among the eastern satrapies of Alexander's empire inherited by Seleucus I. Following his conflict with Chandragupta Maurya, Seleucus ceded these eastern territories to the Maurya Empire, a defining moment in the foundation of the Seleucid Empire's borders.
