Arachosia
Arachosia was an ancient region in present-day southern Afghanistan, centred around Kandahar. It was an Achaemenid satrapy and was conquered by Alexander the Great. Around 303 BCE Seleucus I ceded it to Chandragupta Maurya in exchange for war elephants, as part of the settlement that shaped the early Seleucid Empire.
