Pashupatinath Temple
The Pashupatinath Temple is a Hindu temple of Shiva as Pashupati, 'lord of animals', on the Bagmati river in Kathmandu, Nepal. Already a major shrine in the Licchavi period, it is the most sacred Hindu site in Nepal and draws pilgrims from across South Asia; the present pagoda-style building dates from the late 17th century. It is part of the Kathmandu Valley World Heritage Site.
