Pegnitz

The Pegnitz is a river in Franconia, Bavaria, which flows from Franconian Switzerland through Nuremberg, dividing its old town, and joins the Rednitz at Fürth to form the Regnitz. Its water powered the mills and workshops of medieval Nuremberg, and the city grew on both its banks below the imperial castle.
