Penghu
Penghu, also called the Pescadores, is an archipelago of about 90 small islands in the Taiwan Strait. The Dutch occupied it from 1622 until a Ming fleet forced them to withdraw to Taiwan in 1624. In 1683 the Qing admiral Shi Lang defeated the Zheng fleet there, and in 1895 the islands were ceded to Japan with Taiwan; they are now governed by the Republic of China.
