Perpignan
Perpignan is a city in southern France near the Mediterranean, the historic capital of Roussillon and of French Catalonia. It became the seat of the counts of Roussillon in the 12th century and from 1276 to 1344 the mainland capital of the Kingdom of Majorca, whose Palace of the Kings of Majorca still stands. It passed from Spain to France with Roussillon by the Treaty of the Pyrenees in 1659.
