Persian language
Persian is an Iranian language spoken mainly in Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, whose literary form developed after the Islamic conquest from earlier Middle Persian. It became a prestige language of administration and culture across much of the Islamic world. Persian traditions passed from the Sasanian Empire into the Abbasid state, and the Delhi Sultanate used Persian as its language of government.
