Glossary · Term
Persian miniature
Persian miniature is a tradition of small, detailed painting, usually used to illustrate manuscripts of poetry and history. It flourished under Timurid patronage, especially at Herat, where the court produced works that influenced later Mughal and Safavid art. The Safavid Empire and the Zand Empire continued the tradition.
