Person
Phonen
Phonen was a king of the Blemmyes in the 5th century, known from a letter in Greek that he sent to Abourni, king of the Nobadians, which was found at Qasr Ibrim in Lower Nubia. The letter deals with the conflict between the two peoples over the Nile valley and is one of the few documents written by the Blemmyes themselves.
