Phrae

Phrae is a town and province on the Yom River in northern Thailand. An old Tai principality, it was brought under the direct control of Chiang Mai by King Tilokarat in the mid-15th century and later passed with the rest of Lan Na under Burmese and then Siamese suzerainty. It is known for its teak houses and traditional indigo-dyed cloth.
