Phùng Hưng
Phùng Hưng was a local leader in Tang-ruled Annan, in northern Vietnam, who led a revolt against heavy taxation in the late 8th century. His forces took the protectorate's seat at Tống Bình, and he ruled briefly until his death, after which Tang authority was restored. He was later honoured as Bố Cái Đại Vương, the 'great king, father and mother of the people'.
