Pietrabbondante

Pietrabbondante is a village in Molise, Italy, beside the remains of the largest sanctuary of the ancient Samnites. Built mainly in the 2nd century BCE, the complex includes temples and a theatre, and it served as a religious and political centre for the Samnite peoples. It fell out of use after the Social War of 91–88 BCE.
