Polish–Swedish War (1626–1629)

1626–1629 · 17th century

The Polish–Swedish War of 1626–1629 was fought between Sweden under Gustavus Adolphus and the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, chiefly in Royal and Ducal Prussia. Despite a Polish naval victory at Oliwa (1627) and Koniecpolski's win at Trzciana (1629), the Truce of Altmark (1629) left Sweden most of Livonia and the toll revenues of Prussian ports, freeing it to enter the Thirty Years' War.
