Principality of Lucca and Piombino

1805–1814 · 19th century

The Principality of Lucca and Piombino was a Napoleonic state in Tuscany created in 1805 for Napoleon's sister Elisa Bonaparte and her husband Felice Baciocchi. It replaced the old Republic of Lucca and absorbed the Principality of Piombino. Elisa reformed its administration and promoted Carrara marble, and the state ended with Napoleon's fall in 1814.
