Pulvar River
The Pulvar is a river in Fars Province, south-western Iran, which flows past Pasargadae and Persepolis to join the Kor River on the plain of Marvdasht. Its valley was the heartland of ancient Persis, and the Achaemenid and later Sasanian centres of Pasargadae, Persepolis and Istakhr all lie close to it. The Sivand Dam was built on its course in 2007.
