Qalacholan
Qalacholan was the early capital of the Baban emirate, a Kurdish principality in the Sharazur region of present-day Iraqi Kurdistan. In 1784 the Baban ruler Ibrahim Pasha moved his seat to the new town of Sulaymaniyah, named after the Ottoman governor of Baghdad, and Qalacholan declined to a village.
