Quizquiz

d. 1535 · 16th century

Quizquiz was one of the leading generals of the Inca ruler Atahualpa. With Chalcuchímac he defeated and captured Atahualpa's brother Huáscar near Cusco in 1532. After the Spanish conquest he continued to fight the Spaniards and their allies in Peru and Ecuador until he was killed by his own officers in 1535.
