Rajakumar

12th century · 12th century · Also known as Yazakumar

Rajakumar, also known as Yazakumar, was a prince of Pagan and son of King Kyansittha. When his father was dying around 1112 he built a temple in his memory and set up the Myazedi inscription, which records the same text in Pali, Mon, Pyu and Old Burmese. The inscription is one of the earliest dated records of the Burmese language and was the key to deciphering Pyu.
