Rajgad

Rajgad is a hill fort in the Sahyadri range near Pune in Maharashtra. It was one of the key forts secured by Shivaji in building his power in the Western Ghats. It served as his capital for many years before Raigad, and it was central to the foundation of the Maratha Empire.
