Règlement Organique (Mount Lebanon)
The Règlement Organique was the statute agreed in 1861 between the Ottoman government and Britain, France, Austria, Prussia and Russia after the civil war of 1860 in Mount Lebanon. It made the mountain a single autonomous district, the Mutasarrifate, governed by a non-Lebanese Ottoman Christian governor with a council representing its religious communities. Revised in 1864, it remained in force until 1915.
