Remonstrants
The Remonstrants are a Dutch Protestant movement that followed the teaching of Jacobus Arminius, who rejected strict Calvinist predestination. Named after their Remonstrance of 1610, they were condemned by the Synod of Dort in 1618–1619, and their preachers were exiled. Some found refuge in Holstein-Gottorp, and the Remonstrant Brotherhood still exists in the Netherlands.
