Ribagorza
Ribagorza is a historic region of the central Pyrenees, along the Ésera, Isábena and Noguera Ribagorzana valleys, today divided between Aragon and Catalonia. An independent county from around 872, it was taken over by Sancho III of Navarre in the 1010s and passed to Aragon in the 1040s. The Aragonese part is now the district of La Ribagorza, with its capital at Graus.
