Røros

Also known as Roros

Røros is a mining town in the mountains of central Norway, in Trøndelag. Copper was mined there from 1644 until 1977, making the works one of the main sources of revenue for Denmark-Norway. The town's wooden houses and smelting landscape survive largely intact and were listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980.
