c. 340–c. 310 BCE · 4th century BCE · Also known as Roxane

Roxana was a Bactrian noblewoman, daughter of Oxyartes, whom Alexander the Great married in 327 BCE. She bore his posthumous son, Alexander IV, in 323 BCE, and mother and son became pawns in the wars of Alexander's successors. Cassander held them captive at Amphipolis and had both killed around 310 BCE.
