Rudradaman I
Rudradaman I was a ruler of the Western Satraps in the mid-2nd century CE and a grandson of Chastana. His rock inscription at Junagadh, dated to about 150 CE, records his victories over the Satavahanas and the Yaudheyas and his repair of the Sudarshana reservoir after a storm. It is one of the earliest long inscriptions in classical Sanskrit, marking the language's rise as the language of royal records.
