Western Satraps
The Western Satraps were a dynasty of Saka (Indo-Scythian) rulers who governed western India, including Gujarat and Malwa, from around the first to the fourth century CE. They controlled important ports and trade routes. Accounts of the Gupta Empire discuss their conquest by Chandragupta II, which brought the wealthy western regions and their maritime trade under Gupta control.
