Ruscino
Ruscino was an ancient settlement at Château-Roussillon, just east of Perpignan in southern France, and the chief town of the Sordones. An oppidum from the 6th century BCE, it was where Gallic chiefs met Hannibal in 218 BCE, according to Livy, and later became a Roman town with a forum. It declined in late antiquity but gave its name to the region of Roussillon.
