Rustaq

Rustaq is a town in northern Oman on the inland side of the Hajar Mountains, dominated by a large fort. In 1624 Ibadi scholars there elected Nasir ibn Murshid as imam, founding the Ya'aruba dynasty, and the town served at several times as a seat of the imams and of the early Al Bu Said rulers. It is known for its hot springs and falaj irrigation.
