Said Ali bin Said Omar
Said Ali bin Said Omar was sultan of Bambao on Grande Comore (Ngazidja) in the late 19th century. Backed by the French adventurer Léon Humblot, he made himself paramount sultan of the island and in 1886 signed a treaty placing all of Grande Comore under a French protectorate. The treaty ended the independence of the island's rival sultanates, including Itsandra, and opened the way to French rule over the Comoros.
