Sajó

Also known as Slaná

The Sajó, Slovak Slaná, is a river about 230 kilometres long that rises in the Slovak Ore Mountains and flows south-east through north-eastern Hungary to join the Tisza. On its banks near the village of Muhi the Mongols destroyed the army of Béla IV at the Battle of Mohi in April 1241.
