Also known as Samalei

Samaleswari, or Samalei, is a Hindu goddess, the presiding deity of Sambalpur in western Odisha, India. Her temple on the bank of the Mahanadi was built by the Chauhan rulers of Sambalpur, traditionally in the 16th century, and she is worshipped as a form of the mother goddess across western Odisha and neighbouring Chhattisgarh.
