Sans-Souci Palace
Sans-Souci was the royal palace of Henri I, king of Haiti, built at Milot between 1810 and 1813. It was the seat of his court, with gardens, a chapel and government buildings, and Christophe shot himself there in October 1820. Ruined by the earthquake of 1842, it forms part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the nearby Citadelle Laferrière.
