Santería
Santería is an Afro-Cuban religion that developed among enslaved Yoruba people and their descendants in Cuba, blending Yoruba spiritual traditions with elements of Roman Catholicism. It centres on the worship of deities known as orishas. Accounts of the Oyo Empire list Santería, alongside Candomblé and Vodou, as a living legacy of the Yoruba diaspora created by the Atlantic slave trade.
