Secretariat-Chancellery

The Secretariat-Chancellery was the chief administrative organ of the central government of the Song Dynasty. It worked alongside the Bureau of Military Affairs and the Finance Commission. The overlapping jurisdictions of these three bodies were deliberately designed to prevent any single official from concentrating power.
