Seleucid–Mauryan war
The Seleucid–Mauryan war was the conflict between Seleucus I Nicator and Chandragupta Maurya at the end of the fourth century BCE, which ended in a peace settlement often called the Treaty of the Indus. Seleucus ceded territories in the north-west of the Indian subcontinent and received a large number of war elephants in return. Accounts of the Seleucid Empire treat the settlement as shaping the empire's eastern frontier.
