Sergius VII of Naples
Sergius VII (d. 1137) was the last independent Duke of Naples, ruling from the early 1120s. He opposed Roger II of Sicily and resisted a long siege of Naples in 1135–1137, but then made peace and submitted to him. He was killed fighting for Roger at the Battle of Rignano in 1137, after which Naples was absorbed into the Norman Kingdom of Sicily.
